Our ADAS Part 1 course at Orpheus Island is specifically designed for scientists, such as PhD students, marine biologists and those involved in underwater research.

For those wanting to work in construction, Aquaculture or salvage, an ADAS SSBA (Surface Supplied Breathing Apparatus) diving qualification will be required, so our ADAS Part Three or Two certificate is what you will be after.

At least 18 years old

  • Divers must be at least 18 years of age at the commencement of training.

Recreational Diving Certificate

  • Hold a recognised certificate of recreational diving competence (e.g. an open water sports diver qualification from a recognised SCUBA training organization, or a certificate as a military diver) and demonstrate logged evidence of at least 10 dives undertaken since receiving certification and within 6 months of commencing the ADAS training course
