Advance Your Commercial Diving Career with the ADAS SSBA to 30M Part 2 Certificate. This intensive four-week program is the next step on your path to becoming a professional diver and is meticulously crafted to build upon your ADAS Part 1 foundational skills, propelling you into the realm of onshore civil diving and underwater construction.

  • Surface Supplied Breathing Apparatus (SSBA) Mastery: Seamlessly transition from SCUBA to SSBA, setting the benchmark for professional underwater operations.
  • Expertise in Underwater Construction Tools: Receive hands-on training with an array of tools essential for underwater welding,  Oxythermic cutting (BROCO), and the use of pneumatic and hydraulic machinery. Learn to manoeuvre air and water dredging equipment and deploy lift bags with precision.
  • Skill Enhancement: Sharpen your abilities in non-destructive testing and other specialized disciplines to fulfill the stringent requirements of the onshore diving industry.
  • Worldwide Certification: Earn a globally recognized certification, equivalent to the HSE Part 3 (UK), significantly boosting your employability in the international market.
  • Extensive Practical Experience: Undertake 24 dives on SSBA, honing your skills to perform intricate tasks with safety and efficiency as an integral member of a commercial diving team.

This course is meticulously designed to equip you with the skills necessary to face the challenges of professional diving head-on, ensuring you are primed to excel in a variety of onshore construction roles, all while maintaining the highest standards of safety and operational excellence.

  • Find onshore work as a commercial diver
  • Civil onshore up to 30m
  • Aquaculture diving up to 30m
  • Gain entry into our most popular course – ADAS Part 3 (SSBA to 50m)

The ADAS Part Two course is for the diver who wants to work in aquaculture or onshore civil work that does not require and ADAS Part Three ticket.

The ticket allows divers to work in non-decompression conditions where depths will not exceed 30 metres. This means for non-complex and shallow onshore dive sites the ticket is a minimum requirement.

Divers with the ADAS Part Two ticket are able to use a huge range of power tools, including hydraulic and pneumatics as well as welding and Broco thermic cutting underwater.

ADAS Part Two is also a pre-requisite for our ADAS Part Three course, which allows divers to earn considerably more money, work offshore and work onshore in more complex roles such as deep dams or salvage.

ADAS Part One or ADAS Aquaculture ticket

  • To enrol in our ADAS Part Two (Surface Supplied Air to 30m) course you must first have completed our ADAS Part One or ADAS Aquaculture course. Your ADAS tickets need to also be current. For most students going directly from ADAS Part One, this is easily met!

Current Commercial Dive Medical

  • Before we can allow anyone to dive, they must hold an occupational dive medical compliant to the Australian Standard (AS) 2299.1.
  • The doctor who assesses you for medical fitness is required to be trained in hyperbaric medicine and certified as an occupational diving doctor.
  • You can find dive doctors using the SPUMS website: https://www.spums.org.au/

Current First Aid, CPR and Advanced Oxygen Resuscitation certificates

  • To meet the AS/NZS 2299.1 and ADAS requirements anyone who joins a course at CDA, or any other ADAS school is required to have a current first aid, 02 provider and CPR certification.
  • In general, if the card has First Aid on it, and the course was about a day long, it is likely this will be accepted. Though if you are not sure if your First Aid ticket is accepted, you can contact us any time to find out.
  • If you are completing your First Aid, CPR or O2 course in Australia, you can check if the units are acceptable by checking this table.
