Due to the high level of training and qualifications needed to become a saturation diver. Divers who have successfully graduated from CDA with an ADAS Part Four Certificate (saturation diving) in Closed Bell Diving are in hot demand for high paying jobs, primarily offshore in the oil and gas sector.
Beyond a Saturation Diving Career, divers can aspire to become supervisors, superintendents or client reps. CDA prides itself on its 100% employment rate for all students since 2018.

Saturation divers descend to the very depths of the ocean in pressurised chambers known commonly as closed bells. They can spend up to four weeks at a time working on roles such as surveying, construction, maintenance and repair of oil and gas pipelines and infrastructure. The course is for the individual who loves an exciting and very well-paid career. They also work on many other projects such as salvage, rescue, and repairs of ships. ADAS Part Three ticket
- To enrol in our ADAS Part 4 (Closed Bell) course you must first have completed our ADAS Part 3 course (or international equivalent). Your tickets need to also be current. You must have held your ADAS Part 3 (or international equivalent) for at least 12 months at commencement of the ADAS Part 4 course.
Current Commercial Dive Medical
- Before we can allow anyone to dive, they must hold an occupational dive medical compliant to the Australian Standard (AS) 2299.1.
- The doctor who assesses you for medical fitness is required to be trained in hyperbaric medicine and certified as an occupational diving doctor.

Current First Aid, CPR and Advanced Oxygen Resuscitation certificates or Diver Medic Technician (DMT) with Advanced Oxygen Resuscitation completed in the last 12 months.
- To meet the AS/NZS 2299.1 and ADAS requirements anyone who joins a course at CDA, or any other ADAS school is required to have a current first aid, 02 provider and CPR certification.
- In general, if the card has First Aid on it, and the course was about a day long, it is likely this will be accepted. Though if you are not sure if your First Aid ticket is accepted, you can contact us any time to find out.
- If you are completing your First Aid, CPR or O2 course in Australia, you can check if the units are acceptable by checking this table.
100 Dives, 100 Hours
- Students must have completed (in no less than 12 months) at least 100 logged dives, over a minimum of 100 hours working as a Part 3 diver, recorded in a formal divers daily log book certified by a qualified supervisor.

No, course fees exclude accommodation and food, these are your responsibility. We are more than happy to provide you with a list of local accommodation providers.
Yes, we offer a pickup on the first day only for courses in Tasmania. Pick up can be either from Launceston Airport or from your accommodation in Launceston city if you arrive earlier. Please note that we do not offer daily transport during the course.
We cannot assist with visa applications, if you do need assistance we suggest contacting a visa agent in your home country. We can provide an acceptance letter once you have paid a deposit and secured a place on a course.
